It covers an area of 741 km2 with approximately population of 13.6 million and is the third most populous city in India, the 18th most populous city in the world.

According to the 2011 census of India, 79% of Bangalore's population is Hindu, Muslims comprise 13.9% of the population with Christians and Jains cover 5.4% and 1.0% of the population.

The official language of Bangalore is Kannada, spoken by 42.05% of the population. The second-largest language is Tamil, spoken by 16.34% of the population. 13.73% speak Telugu, 13.00% Urdu, 4.64% Hindi, 3.16% Malayalam and 2.05% have Marathi as their first language.

 

Most of the city of Bangalore lies in the Bangalore Rural district.

Due to its geographical location, it has a tropical savanna climate with distinct wet and dry seasons. Due to its high elevation, it usually enjoys a more moderate climate throughout the year, although occasional heat waves can make summer hot, but evening rains compromise it. The coolest month is January with an average low temperature of 15.1 °C and the hottest month is April with an average high of 34.1 °C. The highest temperature ever recorded in Bangalore is 41.8 °C, recorded 30 April 2024 and the lowest ever recorded is 7.8 °C in January 1884. Winter temperatures rarely drop below 14 °C. Bangalore receives rainfall from both the northeast and the southwest monsoons, and the wettest months is September, followed by October and August.

 

If we talk about temperature range; weather in Summer (March to May) in Bangalore can be warm, with temperatures ranging from around 25°C to 35°C. The weather can be relatively dry during this time, although occasional showers occur in evening. In June to September, which is monsoon season it experiences heavy rainfall, which typically lasts from June to September. The city receives a significant amount of rainfall during this time, which helps cool down the temperatures and replenish water sources.

After Monsoon from October to November, Bangalore experiences a period of relatively pleasant weather with cooler temperatures and lower humidity levels. In winter from December to February climate are mild and comfortable, with temperatures ranging from around 15°C to 25°C. The city can experience foggy mornings during this time. Overall, Bangalore's climate is generally pleasant throughout the year, with mild temperatures and moderate humidity levels. However, it's essential to note that weather patterns can vary time to time.

 

If you go in history of this city. Its history started 890 years back. Although in 1537, Kempe Gowda ruler established Mud fort which considered foundation of modern Bangalore. In 2006, city name officially declared as Bengaluru.

 

Coming to economic contribution which this city is giving to India can be understood by some data.

You come to know that this city hosts major players such as IT companies like Infosys, Mphasis, Wipro, Tata Consultancy Services, Nasdaq, Facebook, Google, and Microsoft etc. India's two largest IT companies – Infosys and Wipro and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).

Google which has significant operations in the city. in addition, there are total 67000 registered IT companies making it the largest IT hub of India and provide plenty of job opportunity to youth.

Some estimates suggest that Bangalore alone accounts for a significant portion of India's total startup count, with thousands of startups operating in domains such as information technology Bangalore boasts over 7,000 start-ups.

 

As per the Bangalore Innovation Report, amongst the 780 major cities in the world, 17 out of the 20 fastest-growing cities in this world will be Indian with Bengaluru between 2019 to 2035. With projected GDP of 8.5%, Bangalore will be the world's fastest-growing city for the next 15 years.

1) Cubbon Park: It is quite large spreading over 200 acres, it has central library second is pigeon spot also dog park is here. one can rent cycle to roam inside the park.



2) Lalbagh Botanical Garden: Spread over 240 acres, Lalbagh is a botanical garden renowned for its diverse collection of plants, trees, and flowers. There are lot of things worth seeing in Lalbagh including a maze garden, glass house, oldest tree, bonsai garden, lotus pound, Lalbagh rock and the lake. Lalbagh is famous for its flower festival happens twice a year Independence Day and republic day.



3)Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace: which show historical landmark showcases the elegant Indo-Islamic architecture of the 18th century. Bangalore fort and Tipu Sultan palace located next to each other in most crowded area K R market.

4) An iconic symbol of Karnataka's legislative power, Vidhana Soudha. which is near to cubbon park. VIdhan Soudha is largest legislative building in India. You can't enter here for security reasons. Opposite to it there is high court just for clicking photos.

5) Visvesvaraya industrial & technological museum: which is on the left of Cubbon Park. Its speciality of this museum is that everything exhibited here is interactive. There museum has 4 floors. It usually takes 3-4 hours to see complete museums.

6) Jawaharlal Nehru planetarium: is amazing lace for kids and space lovers.it is dome-shaped sky theatre where various show is conducted on space Various shows each explaining different aspects of earthen fun ways in two languages Kannada and English.

Show is of 45 min. Opposite of planetarium there is Indira Gandhi music fountain known as National military memorial which is dedicated to show tribute it our lost soldiers. There are dummy models of tanks, fighter planes, rockets, and rusted train engines.

7)Bannerghatta national park: Bangalore palace; entrance fees are RS 240 per head and taking photos charged extra 300rs extra per group. IT is very beautiful inside and outside. The palace hall has multiple section including Darbar hall, a library, and open corridor, beautiful painting, and a photo gallery of Maharaja family.



9)Karnataka Chitramala parishad: If you are art lover you can visit this place. IT is one of few places in Bangalore which focussed on art and culture. Here one can buy beautiful paintings also art gallery is quite large exhibiting various paintings. There is a flea market around the area where you can shop beautiful handicrafts and other items.

10) Bangalore is fill with so many large temples among which Big Bull temple is remarkable one. There are so many temples filled inside it among which Ganesha and Bull Temples are major. Ganesha temple is in entrance and Ganesha idol is huge and it is decorated with butter. After that you reached Big Bull Temple. In statue of Bul is carved in a single stone which measures 15 feet in height. Next to this Temple is the bugle rock park with a 3 thousand-million-year-old rock formation.
